gen 5 really was a wierd yet good time for the bug type honestly to add to the bugs and art association you have bugs just being beautiful sometimes whether thats patterns like on moths, butterflies, some species of beetles, etc or in elegant structure like dragonflies, mantises, centipedes, and any bug that is heavily doing mimicry like stickbugs

Billy is a huge favorite of mine, and I play grapplers, the natural prey of the keepaway character, so you know the love is real. Loving the new design. SNK deserves a lot of praise for daring to change these characters so much. Really hope we get some cool, unique takes on Mai, Andy, Joe and Mary soon. All we need now is for SNK to deliver with the story. 2+ decades in the making, it better be worth it.

I might be baised because gen 5 is my fav generation but Alder being so different from the other champions makes him so much more indearing to me. He always gave me like adventurous grandpa who got into a lot of mischieve when he was younger but with good intentions who can talk for hours about all his adventours. Not that the other champions dont care but you can clearly tell he cares more about his pokemon and just pokemon in general then a title and him being so passionate makes him such a strong trainer. He may not be the strongest but hes up there as one of the best champions in his own right to me (Sorry for my bad english)

Idk why you'd only use your starter against Chili, Cilan, or Cress, when you can get a free Elemental Monkey from thr Dream Radar. Unironically both teaches type matchups really well while not making you have to grind for the gym. While Cheren and Biance do help with you learning type matchups in BW1, if they were instead the first gym in another game where you only have 1 rival, and especially if its a game where your rival chooses the starter weak to yours, it'd be a really good way to teach type matchups. And even then, in my original White 1 playthrough as a kid, it was a good way to learn type matchups are important, like I did solo with Emboar, but I'm almost 100% confident I used the gift Pansage to defeat Cress 10+ years ago

I liked how he was never bad but he was undiely loyal to gease for saving his sister. If he's running gease enterprise i like to imagine well still being a mob boss he might be more forgiving.

I totally agree that they made him a bit too carefree I think even Hugh says something about him being too carefree but that means it was intentional. He has a very cool design tho and his gym is my personal fav but I wish he was more involved in the story like the other gen 5 gym leaders

It seems a tad silly that you realize her name is just an extension of "Versus." Little on the nose but fitting for the game. Better than the straight up Versus named core though. Also, awesome design anyway!
